Starting Right

Imagine you are on your way to the store, and when you get there, it is closed... You are running through the metro station to catch the metro, and as soon as you approach, the doors close... You are on your way home and as you get to the door and reach for your keys; you cannot nd them. The door is locked and no one is home...
These situations are not very pleasant, are they? But, unfortunately, they resemble the situation in our country right now. We are at our home, Ukraine, but we do not feel the warmth of a home; we are locked out of our own home, we cannot keep up with the rapidly increasing prices. The political situation and military actions are closing the doors in Ukraine.
But God is in charge and He is able to open any doors! Because of God’s blessings we are seeing more open doors: the doors of the church, the doors to sport’s facilities, the door to coaching courses, and the doors to a world of children!
Not too long ago, we could not even imagine the local church in certain areas would support sports ministry. But, today the church has a clear vision of how to lead this ministry, set goals, and ready programs.
I could only dream of sport practices and training at a beautiful facility; it required large nancial investments and permission from the city administration. On April 1, 2015 we kicked o our soccer program for kids ages 10-14. These practices are held on a well-kept, rented area. We meet with these kids on a weekly basis, which allows the children to grow physically, professionally and spiritually. The professional and spiritual growth is nurtured by a team of dedicated leaders, which are able to increase their own level of knowledge and sportsmanship thanks to information and training from coaching courses. Individual approach, convenient training schedule, team work and a reward system have attracted the attention of many young players and have opened the door to the hearts of many children, making them happy while laying a solid foundation of spiritual truths.
Growing Pro-Life Ministry
Work at the Women’s Center has continued to grow. We now have over thirty clients from all back- grounds. Even though some clients have decided to stick with their decisions for abortion, many others have asked for help and received the help they need to put an end to these cycles in their life. Bible classes are o ered to women, both Christian women and women who have never opened the Bible before.
Our prenatal classes have really gone well. In April, we nished our second group of ladies, ending with a baby shower party and giving them many gifts that you gathered and sent. I love talking with the women, getting to know them and their likes and dislikes during their pregnancies. I would love to be able to tell you about each one of them, so that you could know them too, but because we promise con dential- ity to the ladies, I can only show you general pictures. Our third group just started this week.
Even though not all of our volunteers have been able to meet with clients and learn one on one, we do not stop our education. We have prayer meetings, Bible studies and discipleship courses for our volun- teer. We are at battle with Satan and we have to constantly stay in God’s Word so that we are not overcome by the worries of this world.
Thank you for your gifts, for your support and for constantly praying for our volunteers and each client.
